Beer is like wine. No, not exactly. It is the basic drink of the common man (or woman!), well, that's not quite true either. Beer has been around for centuries, and it has risen and fallen in popularity throughout the years. Once the drink of kings, and once the drink of the poor, beer stretches over every boundary. There is good beer, and of course there is not so good beer. It all starts with the quality of the ingredients. Malted barley, water, yeast, and hops are the essentials to making beer. It has been said that it takes a better palate to pick apart a complex beer, than to understand a complex wine. And ladies, women have the better palates. Once you try good beer, you will have a hard time drinking the swill that is made and sold in billion gallon tanks. The first step is up to you!!!
